Challenges and opportunities on the S Yarborough rd/ Francisco Villarreal Torres Blvd port of entry as far as El Paseo corridor is concerned.

Although these are relative numbers based on the measurement of the shapes outlined as the proposed economic extension which is in blue, these numbers do demonstrated a significant difference between the available land mass in Cd Juarez as compared to El Paso Texas.  Estimated El Paso side varies from 110 to 150 feet of width between the edge of the highest elevation of the levee to the edge of the border freeway.

In contrast, Cd Juarez Economic Extension width is within 30 to 40 feet also shown in blue, and would be more reliant on a Span to extent this usable area.

The difference between the Economic Extension and the Span are the following.

On the El Paso side, the Economic Extension more less represents land held or in control of the federal government and is one large one owner piece of land.  The Span used on this side would be to cross over the freeway and connect to the other side like an Economic Hub.  The Span in this case is necessary to connect to this large federal land and cross over existing public land like the freeway and terminate at some point where private land surrounds the Span.

By contrast, the Span on the Cd Juarez side simply is needed if it is found that 30 or 40 feet is insufficient area for El Paseo to function correctly in its public use and security component.  The Span in this case would jump from what is believed to be Mexico federal land, span the highway below sufficiently to allow for future expansion of the roadway and clear the adjacent water canal next to the freeway.   The good news is that there is a very large undeveloped land parcel in Cd Juarez across from one potential subterranean Port of Entry location between Cd Juarez and El Paso.

The focus was to compare the El Paso width of 150 feet of the proposed Paseo Rio Grande with the Cd Juarez width of 40 feet of the proposed Paseo Rio Bravo.
